Welcome to the Shelby Escrow Seller's Tutorial!

This tutorial will help you, as the Seller, understand how our site and services can be used to enhance the security of your sales transaction.

First, before entering the sale on this site, you will have already been in communication with your Buyer and agreed upon the nature of the item(s) for sale, prices, who will pay for sales tax, and delivery plans. (The Buyer will be responsible for paying the Escrow fee, unless you make outside arrangements with your Buyer.) By now, you should also have exchanged email addresses with your Buyer, as you will need to enter his/her email address when setting up the transaction.

You and your Buyer will receive email notifications every time the transaction is updated, so that you will both be able to keep a full record of all activity.

If you have questions at any time, please feel free to contact us at accountservices@shelbyfinancialcorp.com or 610.889.0537 x1954. Our friendly customer server representatives are here to help!

Section 1: Log in, or create an account on Shelby Escrow

1.a At www.shelbyescrow.com, log in or click on the Create Account link if you have not yet done so.

1.b Enter information about yourself that we will need in order to process your escrow transactions. All fields marked with an asterisk are required. Then click on the 'Submit' button.

1.c You will now receive a text or an email with a Verification PIN that you will need in order to complete the registation of your account. (Sorry for the extra step, but it enhances the security of the process and proves that you are not a 'bot'!) Click on the 'Log In with you PIN' button to return to the main login page.

1.d Now enter your email address and the password you just selected, in order to proceed to the screen where you will enter the Verification PIN.

1.e Enter your Verification PIN and click on 'Submit', then you're ready to go!

Section 2: Enter in the details of your item(s) for sale as a New Transaction

2.a To begin the process, click on the 'Start New Transaction' button on the Dashboard. (If you've used Shelby Escrow for other transactions recently, you'll see them on this page as well.)

2.b Enter the general information about the item(s) you are selling.

In the Item Count field, you should specify how many unique types of items you are selling, not the total count of all items. For example, if you are selling 3 Rolex watches of the same type/value and 2 Cartier watches of the same type/value, count them as two "items" on this page. (We'll ask you for the quantity and price on the next page.)

You and your Buyer should also discuss and agree upon who will cover any sales tax that may be due according to laws of the Buyer's state of residence. For example, if no sales tax is due, or you plan to pay the sales tax, set the Buyer's portion of the sales tax to 0%.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Acceptance period is the number of days after you have shipped the items that you will grant to the buyer to look over the items and indicate acceptance. Be sure to factor in your expected shipping time into this number. For example, if you expect that the shipment will take a week, and then you want to give the buyer a week after that to inspect the items and indicate acceptance on the website, enter a value of 14. If the buyer does not indicate on the website that they accept or reject the items within this timeframe, the system will automatically update the status of the sale from Shipped to Accepted.

After you've entered everything, click on the 'Next' button.

2.c Now enter the price and quantity of your item(s). You don't need to enter the totals - we'll do the math for you. Then click on the 'Next' button.

2.d Almost there! Review all your entries to confirm that everything is perfect. If you like, you can add comments that you and your Buyer will be able to see at any time when looking at the details of the transaction later. When you're ready, click on 'Submit'.

2.e Now that the transaction is set up, we'll display some reminders of what will happen next, plus send you an email for your records. If your Buyer has not yet created an account on our system, you'll see that little note in red at the bottom of this screen. You might want to remind them to get an account set up so that they can start receiving status emails from us, review the terms of the sale, and make their payment.

Section 3: When your Buyer has made payment, enter your Shipping details

3.a After your Buyer has successfully submitted funds into the Escrow account, you will receive an email notification and can then prepare to ship the item(s). When you have shipped the item(s) and have the shipment's tracking number, log back into Shelby Escrow and click on the 'Shipping Items' link for this transaction.

3.b Enter the shipping information, and any additional comments you may wish to include, then click on 'Shipped Items'.

3.c Now that you've told us you shipped the items, we'll display some reminders of what will happen next, plus send you an email for your records.

3.d If you choose to return to the Dashboard, you'll notice that the status indicates that we will now wait for the Buyer to accept the item(s) when they arrive.

Section 4: Watch for notification that your Buyer has received and accepted the shipment

4.a When the Buyer accepts the item(s), you will receive an email notification of the acceptance, and the funds held by Shelby in escrow from the Buyer will be released to your account at this time. The Pending Actions field will be updated to "None" to indicate that there are no additional steps required on the Shelby Escrow site.

Mission accomplished - the sale is complete!

Section 5: What happens if there is a problem?

5.a If the item(s) do not arrive in acceptable condition, or do not match the expectation on the Buyer, the Buyer may choose to reject the transaction.

If this happens, you will receive an email notification that they buyer has chosen the Reject Items options on the website. When the buyer ships the item(s) back to you and updates the transaction with the return shipping information, you will receive another email indicating the return shipment has occurred. When you receive the item(s), you should come back to the website and click on the 'Received Returned Items' button.

5.b Review the current details of the transaction and enter any comments if desired, then click on 'Received Returned Items'.

5.c The final status of the transaction and reminder regarding the return of the escrowed funds to the buyer will be displayed.

5.d On the Dashboard, the transaction will now show that it is completed.
